Anija Seedler ist als bildende Künstlerin und Szenografin tätig. Sie studierte von 1993 bis 1998, Modedesign an der (FH) Angewandte Kunst Schneeberg (Diplom 1998) und von 2000 bis 2002, an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig, Illustration bei Prof. Volker Pfüller und Grafik bei Prof. Rolf Münzner. Sie war Gewandmeisterin am Theater Annaberg-Buchholz (2000) und als Kostümassistentin am Teatro Comunale di Bologna (1996, 1997) tätig. Sie hat Kinderstücke inszeniert, und an zahlreichen Theaterproduktionen in Deutschland, Italien und Frankreich szenographisch mitgewirkt. Erste Publikationen von ihr erschienen im Jahr 2007 im weiw Verlag Stralsund/ Amsterdam. Anija Seedler arbeitet genreübergreifend, doch im Vordergrund steht die zeichnerische Auseinandersetzung mit Widersprüchlichkeiten und den vielfältigen Interpretationsmöglichkeiten einer polaren Welt. Themen wie Schönheit und Vergänglichkeit, Wahrnehmung, Identität, stehen dabei im Zentrum ihrer zeichnerischen Analyse, welche mit Realität und Fiktion spielt. Ihr Werk wurde bereits in zahlreichen internationalen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen gezeigt und durch Preise geehrt. Sie arbeitet in der Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei.

Anija Seedler works as a visual artist and stage designer. From 1993 to 1998 she studied fashion design at the Academy for Applied Arts in Schneeberg, and from 2000 to 2002 she studied under Prof. Volker Pfüller und Prof. Rolf Münzner at the Academy for Visual Arts, Leipzig. From 1996 to 1997 she worked as the costume assistant at the Teatro Comunale die Bologna, and in 2000 she was wardrobe supervisor at the Theater Annaberg-Buchholz. Seedler has staged children´s theater and collaborated on scenography for numerous theater productions in Germany, Italy and France. Her first publications appeared in 2007 from the weiw Verlag Stralsund/Amsterdam. Seedler works across genres; however, her main focus is the investigation through drawing of ambiguities and the possibility of multiple interpretations of a contradictory world. Her works in ink, watercolor and acrylic are marked by the presence of simple curved lines, the strength of colored accents and a self-contained and complete world of image and narrative. In constructed scenarios, people, animals and things become curiosities, signifiers of character and catalysts for moments of film-like memories. Themes like beauty and transience, perception and identity stand in the center of her drawn analyses, which play with reality and fiction. She has been award the Art Prize of the City of Limburg in 2011 and the Phönix Art Prize in 2012, among others. She was shown in numerous international exhibitions and has her studio in the Leipzig Cotton Spinning Mill.
